The very first wrinkles usually appear in the thirties. They are visible on the surface of the skin and are often due to lack of hydration. Later on, deeper wrinkles start to show: either expression-induced, related to skin laxity. When character lines become deep creases, they reveal an aging face; the primary zones affected are the eye and mouth contours and the forehead. They make you look cross, tired or sad. Wrinkles on the cheeks and neck areas are due to loss of skin support and lack of elasticity. Happily, there are many solutions to erase existing wrinkles and prevent new ones from appearing.

In the mid-thirties, the skin begins to lose its elasticity. The fibroblasts become progressively more scarce and lazy. Excess sun and tobacco accelerate the process of skin sagging, and around menopause, loose skin becomes more severe. The lower third of the face and neck are the most affected by ptosis, creating jowls and what is sometimes called the « goose neck » effect. Aesthetic medicine offers a wide range of treatments to firm things up. Combination therapies are what work best: associating injections, photo-rejuvenation and peels. And when these non-invasive techniques no longer suffice, we recommend turning to cosmetic surgery to tighten and lift the skin.

Focused Ultrasound Ulthera, Pulsed infrared Titan, Radio frequency and ultrasound, Facelift. Prevention: Peels, Mechano-stimulation, PRP, Anti-age cosmetics

Skin color, texture and tone are all factors that influence skin radiance. On the skin's surface, the cornea layer may either reflect light or become dull, depending on the cellular regeneration process and accumulation of dead cells. A beautiful skin is first and foremost a healthy skin. Skin thickening may be caused by lack of oxygen (smoking, pollution...), blood vessel alterations (cold, heat, alcohol...) or menopause. The keys to reverse this process: hydration and cell renewal. A good skin regimen includes scrubs, peels, and pulsed light to encourage dynamic regeneration of the skin and to even-out skin complexion.

Solutions for a glowing skin: Hyaluronic acid injections, Softlift booster, PRP injections, Mesotherapy/Mesolift, Fractional lasers, Intense pulsed light (IPL), Peels, Aquarejuvenation/microdermabrasion, Mechano-stimulation. Prevention: PRP, Peels, Mechano-stimulation

In the past, acne was perceived as a normal part of adolescence, while today acne affects many adults. It is considered as an unsightly skin condition that must be treated or avoided because of its negative impact on one's quality of life and self-esteem.
Acne generally appears on the face, chest and back. It provokes different types of lesions: whiteheads, blackheads, pustules, cysts and dilated pores. If acne inflammation persists, it may leave traces on the skin: red marks, hyperpigmentation, rough patches, and hollow scars.Acne may be genetic, hormonal, or infectious, and is sometimes linked to diet, stress or the dysfunction of sebaceous glands.

Dilated pores: Intense pulsed light (IPL), Alpha-Beta salicylic acid peels, Fractional laser.
Retentional acne: Glycolic acid peels.
Comedogenic acne: Alpha-Beta peels ; Microdermabrasion (aquarejuvenation, Waterbeam).
Inflammatory acne: Vitamin A mask ; Pulsed dye laser.
Cystic Acne: Alpha-Beta peels.
Acne scars and discoloration: Mandelic and Amelan peels; Fractional lasers.

The eye contour is a fragile and delicate area that requires particular care. Sparkling eyes and a rested look are essential to a beautiful and fresh face, while puffy eyes with dark circles and bags convey fatigue and are linked to an aging face. Have you had enough of hearing that you look tired even when you are full of energy? Great progress has been made recently in the fields of aesthetic medicine and cosmetic surgery that make it possible to improve the appearance of the eye contour.

Under-eye circles:
Dark circles under the eyes can vary in shade (hyperpigmentation), color (blue, red, brown), shape (concave or even), and texture (wrinkled or smooth). Whatever their characteristics, under-eye circles are an unattractive distraction to one's natural beauty. They convey a tired look, and may age an otherwise fresh looking face.

Solutions: PRP, Amelan lightening peel, Hyaluronic acid injections, Fractional lasers.

Puffy eyes or "bags" under the eyes are a common issue in aesthetics. Often more visible in the morning, bags under the eyes are usually hereditary and accentuate over time. They may be linked either to a lymphatic disorder or edema, to fatty deposits and loosening of the skin, or to the natural aging process – in which case they are permanent.

Solutions: Mechano-stimulation, Focused ultrasound, Cosmetic surgery of lower-eyelid.

As time goes by, eyes appear noticeably smaller and therefore less attractive. In certain cases, injections of botulinum toxin can help raise the eyebrow and create a look that is brighter and more open. In other cases, heavy and droopy eyelids are caused by an excess of skin that may be removed only through cosmetic surgery.

Solutions: Botulinum toxin injections, Blepharoplasty, Facelift

The face, chest, arms and hands are the first parts of the body to be concerned by brown spots. Also called age spots or sun spots, they are forms of pigmented lesions caused by excess production of melanin in the skin. Most people have some form of pigmented lesion. While brown spots may not be medical emergencies, many of our patients would like to have them removed. Whether they are lentigines, melasma, freckles, or seborrheic keratosis, there are various safe and efficient medical aesthetic techniques to remove brown spots. The most common is laser spot removal.

Unsightly red blotches on the face are a common aesthetic problem. Rosacea, erythrosis, spider veins, angiomas or port-wine stains are all examples of vascular lesions i.e. damaged or abnormal blood vessels located under the skin's surface. These forms of skin redness are all treatable skin conditions: light and laser technologies offer safe and efficient treatments.

Solutions: Lasers, Fractional lasers, Intense pulsed light (IPL)

Aesthetic medicine offers many solutions to improve the lips. First, hyaluronic acid can be used to correct asymmetry or to restore a loss of volume that can be observed after the age of 35. When injected with subtlety and precision, it can help put on display the vermilion quality of the lips as much as cupid's arrow. Hyaluronic acid can also be used to correct falling or wrinkled lip corners, also known as marionnette lines that contribute to an aged face. The Fractional eCO2 laser allows smoothing of vertical wrinkles around the lips, also called smoker's lines. When a melasma or «pregnancy mask » darken the upper lip, a peel such as mandelic acid or amelan can lighten or even erase this condition.

Solutions: Hyaluronic acid injections, Softlift, Fractional lasers, Peels.

Many people don't know that a nose job (i.e. cosmetic surgery) is not the only way to improve the appearance of a nose. Hyaluronic acid injections allow to reshape/refine the nose and to make the nose contour more appealing. Lift the tip of a nose, smoothen a bump, correct nasal asymmetry: it's all achievable with hyaluronic acid injections. Results are immediate, natural and reversible. When a patient wishes to permanently change the anatomy of his/her nose, plastic surgery is the best option; surgeons today achieve subtle results that preserve the harmony of a face.

Solutions: Hyaluronic acid injections, Softlift, Rhinoplasty.

The shape and general appearance of ears may influence the beauty and harmony of a face. Cosmetic medicine and surgery offer several possibilities to improve various features of ears. Wrinkled earlobes, for example, may be corrected with hyaluronic acid injections.
Earlobe repair is a quick and effective cosmetic surgery procedure to correct stretched or split earlobes. If you feel that your stretched or split earlobes are affecting your appearance, social life and career, the surgical treatment can provide the solution.
Another common aesthetic complaint is for ears that stick out too much from the head, distorted or protruding ears. Otoplasty — also known as cosmetic ear surgery — is a procedure to change the shape, position or size of the ears. Ear surgery greatly improves self-esteem and social adaptation.

Solutions: Hyaluronic acid injections, Earlobe repair surgery, Otoplasty (cosmetic ear surgery).

A double chin may appear on men and women of all ages. It may be caused by a localized fat deposit or sagging, wrinkled skin in the area of the chin and neck. A double chin makes a face look heavy, older and less attractive.
Various treatments are available to get rid of a double chin; non-invasive techniques such as Ultherapy are great for skin tightening and enhancement of face contours and oval. If the double chin is coupled with severe skin laxity, loss of elasticity, and ptosis, cosmetic surgery will offer the most efficient solution to get rid of a double chin.

Solutions: focused ultrasound, pulsed infrared, Liposuction, Neck lift.

For both men and women, losing hair means losing self-confidence. We perform mesotherapy and injections of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) that offer great results to reduce hair loss and stimulate hair regrowth.

Solutions: Mesotherapy injections, PRP injections, dermatological check-up.

The skin covering the neck and décolletage area is the second thinnest area of skin on the body, second only to the eye area. Skin on the neck and chest can age more quickly and appear older than facial skin; this delicate area should therefore be an essential part of your skincare regime.

So don't forget to treat brown spots, wrinkles and dry skin from your neck and décolleté.

Many women wish to improve the appearance of their breasts. During a lifetime, weight loss, pregnancy, breast-feeding and illness may damage breasts and create sufferance and loss of self-esteem. Cosmetic surgery offers great results for breast augmentation, breast reduction or breast lift. Mammoplasty is the solution to have harmonious, firm, and beautifully-shaped breasts.

Hands are as exposed as faces, hence they deserve as much care and protection. Men and women both tend to forget that most cosmetic and anti-age treatments for the face are as important and beneficial for the hands. Indeed, brown spots, wrinkles, loss of volume and skin elasticity, are all common skin conditions that may be efficiently treated.

The areas of the body where the skin begins to sag are almost always the same: arms, breasts, lower abdomen, and the inside of thighs.
Skin loosening can be accelerated by a strict diet, weight fluctuations or pregnancy. The skin reacts to body volume variations in two ways: stretching and extending (creation of excess skin). Stretched skin can respond to treatments that boost collagen and elastin production, while extended skin will be improved only through cosmetic surgery to remove the excess of skin.

Solutions: Acoustic waves X-Wave, Focused ultrasound,Pulsed infrared, Abdominoplasty

A smooth, silky, hair-free skin is almost every woman's wish, and nowadays an increasing number of men chose hair removal to improve their appearance. Indeed, excessive or unsightly body hair can be upsetting for both men and women. Laser Hair removal is the most efficient, long-lasting and reliable medical method available. Cabinet has the best lasers for hair removal: all skin types, from the fairest to the darkest, may be treated with success. To remove hair from certain areas of the face, to eliminate thin duvet hair or white hair, electrolysis is the best alternative.

Solutions: Laser hair removal, Electrolysis, Waxing

Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, is a biological phenomenon that causes discomfort and embarrassment. There is one very efficient although still widely unknown treatment for underarm sweating: botulinum toxin injections on armpits. We practice Botox injections to treat hyperhidrosis. All our patients, men and women alike, tell us how this treatment has changed their lives, both personal and professional.

Solutions: Botulinum toxin injections

Hyaluronic acid injections fill in wrinkles and folds, plump up lips, enhance cheekbones and redefine facial contours.

Hyaluronic acid, a sugar naturally present in the dermis fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers. Its hydrophilic properties enable it to attract water and thus contribute to the hydration and volumization of the skin. During the aging process, epidermal cells progressively lose their capacity to produce hyaluronic acid. This leads to a loss of volume and consequent accentuation of facial wrinkles and folds. In aesthetic medicine, hyaluronic acid is used as a correcting and sculpting agent to restore symmetry, volumes, and freshness to the face and smoothness to its skin.

After a detailed consultation, the doctor performs hyaluronic acid injections in the chosen areas using a flexible and blunt microcannula. The procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes with immediate results. At Laserolog Laser Cabinet, we use hyaluronic acid, that contains an anesthetic which reduces the discomfort during the procedure.

• Smile lines, otherwise known as nasolabial folds
• Marionette lines (and other lines around the lips)
• Lips : volume, contours and commissures
• Facial contours
• Cheekbones, cheeks and temples
• Frown lines and crow's feet, in association with botulinum toxin (Botox®) injections
• Tear trough
• An irregular nose
• A receding chin
• Acne scars, in association with fractional laser
• The back of the hands

Wrinkles are smoothed, facial volumes are restored and lips are redefined. Hyaluronic acid rehydrates the skin and stimulates fibroblasts, the cells responsible for the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibres. This explains why hyaluronic acid injections restore suppleness and radiance to the skin. When repeated regularly, the effects last longer.

Varies according to needs. Once injected, hyaluronic acid has a life span of 9 to 18 months, after which it is gradually resorbed. To optimized results, a touch-up session may be necessary 15 to 30 days after the first treatment.

Redness, slight swelling, bruising and nodules may sometimes occur on the site of injection; these side effects are temporary. In cases of oedema or asymmetries, hyaluronidase, an enzyme capable of resorbing hyaluronic acid, may be injected.

Botulinum toxin injections (Botox® Azzalure®) smooth out expression-induced wrinkles and treat hyperhidrosis.

Botulinum toxin type A (Botox® Azzalure® ) is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. When injected, Botox ® induces muscular relaxation in the targeted areas. This procedure reduces visible facial expression lines that may convey fatigue or bitterness, resulting in a serene and fresh appearance. A simple solution for great results! The upper part of your face and eyes look lifted.

The doctor carries out a detailed examination of the patient's facial anatomy and muscle tone before injecting botulinium toxin (Botox®) in the pre-determined points. The procedure lasts about 30 minutes and 2 weeks afterwards, a follow-up appointment is recommended.

Vertical lines between the eyebrows (frown lines)
Expression-induced wrinkles
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

A relaxed face, a rested appearance and a smoother skin; full Botox® benefits will appear 24 hours to 5 days after the treatment.

The effects of Botox® usually last around 4 months and fade away gradually. To prolong its benefits, the treatment may be repeated every 4 to 6 months.

Momentary reversible side effects can occur during the first few days following the injection, such as asymmetry and eyelid drop. Other side effects have also been observed such as bruising, redness, headache, dizziness and nausea.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are a powerful tool for rejuvenation: healthier skin, reduced wrinkles and dark circles.

PRP is a skin regenerating medical technique which uses the patient's own blood to produce plasma enriched with platelets, growth factors and stem cells. Once re-injected beneath the patient-donor's skin, it accelerates normal healing processes by stimulating collagen formation, revascularization and repair. This explains why PRP provides a gradual increase in skin thickness and vitality. Because of its regenerative properties, PRP was initially performed in the fields of reconstructive surgery and sport medicine; the technique was more recently introduced in aesthetic medicine with great success

The doctor samples a small quantity of the patient's own blood and immediately centrifuges it in order to extract the plasma concentrated in platelets. This plasma is then injected by mesotherapy in the areas requiring treatment. A PRP session lasts approximately 1 hour.

• Dark circles around the eyes
• Fine lines
• Wrinkled neck and décolleté
• Hands
• Hair loss

PRP offers a very natural rejuvenating effect. Around 2 to 3 months after the first treatment the skin becomes suppler and more toned, less wrinkly, and its complexion is rosier, particularly around the eyes as dark circles are brightened. When injected in the deep dermis, PRP also has a volumizing action. To ensure the skin's long term regeneration, a series of maintenance sessions should be regularly carried-out.

For optimal results, we recommend 3 sessions spread over 2 months.

Because it is autologous, PRP induces particularly few side effects. Slight redness, swelling and bruising may occur immediately after the treatment, but will fade away over the following days.

Mesotherapy treats skin ageing and hair loss.

Mesotherapy is a medical treatment involving sub-cutaneous micro-injections of active nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, enzymatic cofactors and hyaluronic acid. Pioneered by the French physician, Dr Michel Pistor in 1952, mesotherapy is based on the concept of injecting small quantities at the right place in order to deliver substances directly in the troubled area. This technique provides protection against free radicals responsible for skin ageing, restores hydration and tones up to the skin.

The doctor prepares a cocktail of active ingredients tailored to the patient's needs and injects this natural medication immediately beneath the surface of the skin using extremely fine needles. A mésotherapy treatment lasts 45 minutes.

• Face
• Neck
• Décolleté
• Hands
• Hair loss

Skin ageing: preventive at 30 years old and corrective at 40 years old. The skin is rehydrated and fine lines are progressively reduced. Helps restore radiance and vitality to a skin damaged by unhealthy lifestyle.
Hair loss: mesotherapy slows down hair loss for both men and women and can stimulate its growth within 6 months.

A series of weekly sessions to begin with, followed by monthly treatments to maintain results.

The micro-injections can provoke slight redness and bruises, but will soon disappear after the treatment.

Aqualyx® is a compound solution from the deoxycholate family that has been physically modified and, by creating a slow release sugar-based system, the biological half-life is reduced which results in minimal side effects. Developed by renowned aesthetic surgeon the late Professor Motolese, Aqualyx® has been available internationally since 2009, and over 2,000,000 vials have been used for patient treatments in 49 countries worldwide. Professor Motolose developed an injection technique, for the treatment known as 'Aqualysis ™' or 'Aquaplasty™' and a precise protocol is followed. Aqualysis™ or Aquaplasty™ consists of injecting the solution into localised fat deposits in areas such as saddle bags, thighs, stomachs, chins and knees. It can also be used to treat pseudo-gynocomastia in men. Aqualyx® liquefies the fat cell, destroying it permanently, releasing the lipids that are then eliminated naturally through the lymphatic system. Aqualysis™ can be used in conjunction with an ultrasound device to assist in the dissipation of Aqualyx® throughout the localised fat cells.

The treatment should only be performed by a doctor or surgeon. Specially designed long flexible cannulas are used, and specialist training is given to every doctor before they offer Aqualysis™. Typically, two injection spots are required for each area being treated; patients report good tolerance of the treatment and an anaesthetic solution is normally added prior to injection for greater comfort. The treatment will be repeated between two and eight times depending on the number of small pockets of fat tissue to be reduced. The injections are repeated every three to four weeks. After each treatment patients can expect some swelling, redness and skin irritation and tenderness in the area treated, which will subside after four to six days. Contraindications: pregnancy and lactation, liposdystrophy, pathological conditions and for those under 18 years or over 60 years.

The concept of PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) is based on the centrifugation of whole blood without anticoagulants. (J. Choukroun et al. 2001). At the end of the spin, a fibrin clot containing the majority of the platelets and white blood cells is obtained. This fibrin clot called Platelet Riche Fibrin or PRF  will release gradually and growth factors or cytokines in the site (VEGF, PDGF, TGF Beta, Thrombospondin). The expected objective of these growth factors is to accelerate the soft tissue and bone healing. Numerous international publications are available and demonstrate the effectiveness of PRF in many indications: oral surgery (implants, bone grafting, periodontal surgery, extractions, etc...), Orthopedic, cosmetic and dermatological surgery. Today, the PRF is recognized around the world, from Nice to New York from Los Angeles to Shanghai, from Rangoon to Moscow, from Sao Paulo to Cape Town, Santiago to Zagreb...

Why A-PRF™ ?

Many recent studies have shown the interest and potential of white cells in the inflammatory cascade, as a corollary, a prominent action in the early days of stimulation of osseo-progenitor cells. (Omar & Thomsen, Biomaterials, 2012, Kawazoe T, Cell. Transplant 2012). It was therefore natural to try to capture the whole amount of monocytes in the PRF, to make it more active in stimulating bone grafts, but also to turn to a more rapid transformation of monocytes into macrophages to increase the effect bone stimulation.

This is done with the A-PRF™ or Advanced-PRF™. The tubes, the centrifuge rpm and time of spin. The first results of our research, conducted at the Laboratory of Clarion Research Group, Pennsylvania University (USA) and Repair-Lab, Institute of Pathology, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz (Germany) show a release of BMP-2 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein), and BMP-7. These studies also show a greater release of VEGF. Obviously, this release is from the monocytes. A specific tube that was developed following our scientific research and certified as Medical Device is the tube A-PRF™ +.  This tube is the only authorized at this moment. Conventional tubes being used far tubes for laboratory tests and now non-regulatory. The tube A-PRF™ + is now available in sterile packed (May, 2013). The first clinical data and results are very exciting! Many scientific studies are underway: The results will be published shortly. But the presence of BMP in sufficient quantity, already provides the A-PRF ™ a future by providing practitioners with a very powerful product for bone reconstruction and a still affordable.

i-PRF. Numerous scientific publications describing the action of the white cells on vascularization and wound healing were published these recent years. With the unanimous conclusion that platelet concentrates enriched leukocytes are more effective on tissue and bone healing. The publication of our research on the A-PRF (PRF enriched leukocytes) and clinical outcomes confirm absolutely this scientific position. However, the use of platelet concentrates in "liquid" and not coagulated remains an important indication in various medical and dental applications. That is why we have focused our research to a liquid "blood concentrate” enriched in white blood cells but also platelet-enriched to increase the healing properties while retaining the principle of centrifugation "without anticoagulants" or "no additives ". The research was led by Dr Joseph Choukroun, the inventor of the PRF technique with collaboration of two laboratories among the most renowned in the world (FORM in Frankfurt, Germany and Research Lab Clarion in Clarion, USA). The result is the new protocol i-PRF ! Research of i-PRF ("i" as injectable) has been directed towards obtaining a blood concentrate with very high leukocyte content but which coagulates few minutes after the end of spin. This "super PRF" is produced with new tubes i-PRF specific for this preparation. The use of i-PRF is in its infancy, but already, the results in both oral surgery in regenerative medicine are very promising injection into soft tissue to increase vascularity and perhaps improve the biotype, injection into the bone graft particles (biomaterials) to coagulate and get a "solid" free of all movements granules. The interest of the graft clot also lies in how to carve a bone graft and give it a compact form. The protocol i-PRF is a real scientific and clinical innovation and will allow very many practitioners to improve their results in bone grafts.

Fat grafting (Lipotransfer, Lipofilling)

Immediate lifting effet, with no surgery.

Suspension threads used in aesthetic medicine are bio-resorbable, made of similar componants as suture threads used to close a surgical wound. The thread is held in place under the skin thanks to resorbable microscopic cones oriented in opposite directions.

Suspension threads correct signs of skin aging such as ptosis and skin laxity. Most common indications:
loss of oval definition
jowls, loss of cheek volume and definition
double chin
loose skin in the neck and décolleté area
loose skin in the upper arm and interior of thighs areas

After a small local anesthetic, the doctor inserts the suture under the skin using a soft-tip cannula. One or more threads may be applied on each side of the face or body, depending on the patient's desire and the treated area. The procedure lasts between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the number of threads applied.

In only one session, the patient benefits from a lifting effect on the face, neck, or décolleté. Results may last up to 2 years. The application of suspension threads is a reliable, minimally invasive procedure. After the treatment, a slight edema or bruising may occur. Sometimes a slight depression or skin irregularity may appear at the entry points. These inconveniences disappear a few days after the procedure.

Q-Switched lasers eliminate lentigos and freckles.

Medical laser therapy is the safest, most efficient and definitive way to remove brown spots from the skin.
The face, décolleté, hands and arms are the first parts of the body to show age spots because they receive so much sun exposure.
Lasers can remove 90-95% of pigmented lesions effectively. The intense light that is emitted by GOLD TONING / RUVY TOUCH lasers has a wavelength that is absorbed only by the melanin pigment that has accumulated in the skin and that form the dark spot; laser spot removal is precise and rapid.

Your therapist will assess the nature of your skin lesions and your expectations. Once the spot removal treatment begins, the laser's energy is delivered in pulses via a handpiece held very close to your skin. As the laser pulses, you may feel a slight sting. A laser spot removal procedure lasts about 30 minutes.
Typically only 1 or 2 sessions are all that is necessary. Occasionally darker, larger spots may require additional treatment to obtain optimal results.

Age spots
Sun spots or lentigos

Laser spot removal reveals a healthy, fresher and younger-looking skin.

Following the laser treatment, there may be a little discoloration. After several days a small crust will form and fall off within 7-14 days.

Rosacea and Redness on the face:
3-5 sessions, 30 min., cheeks nose, 1 week break between each session.
Unsightly spider veins and red blotches on the face affect millions of men and women. The V-Beam Perfecta laser offers safe and effective treatment for blemishes due to abnormal blood vessels located under the skin's surface. Results show a dramatic improvement in skin quality and appearance. The number of laser session necessary to remove rosacea may vary from case to case. Spider veins on legs:
1-2 sessions, 45 min., legs, 6 weeks break between each session.
Spider veins or telangiectasias are those small red, blue and purple blood vessels that appear on legs, from the ankle up to the thighs. Varicose veins may be removed with Nd :YAG lasers. The laser's light energy is absorbed by the damaged blood vessels, making them coagulate and subsequently disappear. The number of laser session necessary to remove spider veins may vary from case to case.

What can be treated?:
red blotches (erythrosis)
spider veins on nose and cheeks (rosacea)
angiomas and Port Wine Stains
red spots and other forms of vascular lesion
spider veins on legs (telangiectasias)

Laser vein removal reveals a healthy, fresher and younger looking skin. You will no longer be embarrassed to show off your legs.

Fractional lasers have revolutionized laser skin resurfacing.

Fractional lasers allow safe skin rejuvenation, with minimal downtime. Just as a damaged painting is restored one small area at a time, or a photo is altered pixel by pixel, Fractional lasers improve the appearance of the skin by treating only a fraction of it at a time. Its thousands of microscopic laser spots create tiny but deep thermal « wounds » known as microscopic treatment zones (MTZs). Each MTZ is surrounded by parcels of unaffected skin tissue. This fractional treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once. The MTZs represent 25% of the surface treated which means the skin cells that are left intact can actively participate in the healing process. The end result is the creation of new, healthy and tighter tissue to replace the damaged skin. Fractional lasers are successful on all phototypes, including dark or Asian skin types, both on and off the face.

Firstly, the therapist determines the best treatment plan for the desired results and calibrates the Fractional laser accordingly: the energy level, spot size, treatment level and number of passes are tailored to the patient's needs.
1 ½ hours before the Fractional laser treatment, an anesthetic cream is applied. The procedure itself takes between 30 and 60 minutes for a full face. Altogether, it requires a total of 2 to 2 ½ hours spent in the treatment room.

Mild photo-damage (brown spots), fine lines (around the eyes and lips, cheeks), mild acne scars, actinic keratosis, dilated pores, irregular skin texture and tone, melasma, moderate photo-damage, fine wrinkles, severe acne scars, surgical scars

Results appear in two stages; certain are immediate, others progressive. A week after the Fractional laser treatment, the complexion starts to appear more even, the skin is softer and more radiant. After a few months, fine lines and scars are smoothed out. By then, the skin has had sufficient time to fully regenerate by producing new collagen, elastin and other essential components.

Fractional laser non ablative: 3 to 5 treatments performed 3 to 6 weeks apart.
Fractional laser ablative: 1 treatment session followed by a check-up 10 to 15 days later. Minimum of 1 year interval between 2 sessions.

Fractional laser non ablative: a mild sunburn sensation immediately after the treatment, pinkish skin-tone and slight swelling for 3 to 7 days. Delayed side effects such as flaking and acne-like eruptions may be experienced when high Fractional laser energies are used.
Fractional laser ablative: bleeding, swelling, formation of scabs. Requires 1 week recuperation at home, after which makeup may be applied to conceal redness, and normal life may resume. Full skin color recuperation takes a couple of months.

Recently, there has been a great leap forward in laser technology, for laser tattoo removal. A new laser emitting impulses in picoseconds - i.e. 100x shorter and more powerful than before - was developed in the US.
The advantages of the new laser tattoo removal : it works on previously uncompliant colors (like yellow, turquoise, orange) and recalcitrant inks, it successfully erases permanent makeup (eyebrows, lips), it delivers better results in fewer laser sessions, the treated skin recovers much better in between two laser sessions

Laser tattoo removal is safe and non-invasive. When the ink particles of the tattoo absorb the light emitted by the laser, they are broken up into tiny fragments that are absorbed and eliminated by the body. Several sessions are required to reach optimal results.

Side effects:
Right after your treatment, the area around the tattoo may be reddish and slightly swollen.

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the skin. Facial skin is mostly treated but the body and scarring can be improved as well. Chemical peels are intended to remove the outermost layers of the skin. To accomplish this task, the chosen peel solution induces a controlled injury to the skin. Resulting wound healing processes begin to regenerate new tissues. The dead skin eventually peels off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. Some types of chemical peels can be purchased and administered without a medical license, however people are advised to seek professional help from a dermatologist, esthetician, plastic surgeon, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, or otolaryngologist on a specific type of chemical peel before a procedure is performed.
There are several types of chemical peels.

Alpha hydroxy acid peels.
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are naturally occurring carboxylic acids such as glycolic acid, a natural constituent of sugar cane juice and lactic acid, found in sour milk and tomato juice. This is the mildest of the peel formulas and produces light peels for treatment of fine wrinkles, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne. Alpha hydroxy acids can also be mixed with facial washes, serums or creams in lesser concentrations as part of a daily skin-care regimen to improve the skin's texture. There are five usual fruit acids: citric acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid and tartaric acid. Many other alpha hydroxy acids exist and are used. AHA peels are not indicated for treating wrinkles.AHA peels may cause stinging, skin redness, mild skin irritation, and dryness. Higher pH levels and lower percentages of hydroxy acids are commonly used as home peels. These will not work as quickly as an in-office procedure, but can be economical for many people.

Beta hydroxy acid peels
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid. It is antibacterial and anti inflammatory and, as a result, works well for acne. Salicylic also has the ability to reduce the spots and bumps associated with acne. It is becoming common for beta hydroxy acid (BHA) peels to be used instead of the stronger alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) peels due to BHA's being oil soluble. Studies show that BHA peels control sebum excretion, acne as well as remove dead skin cells to a certain extent better than AHAs[citation needed] due to AHAs only working on the surface of the skin.
Jessner's peels
Jessner's peel solution, formerly known as the Coombe's formula, was pioneered by DMax Jessner, a German-American dermatologist. Jessner combined 14% salicylic acid, lactic acid, and resorcinol in an ethanol base. It is thought to break intracellular bridges between keratinocytes.[citation needed] It is very difficult to "overpeel" the skin due to the mild percentages associated with the acid combination, and does not penetrate as deeply as other chemical peels.

Retinoic acid peel
Retinoic acid is a retinoid. This type of facial peel is also performed in the office of a plastic surgeon, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, or a dermatologist in a medical spa setting. This is a deeper peel than the beta hydroxy acid peel and is used to remove scars as well as wrinkles and pigmentation problems. It is usually performed in conjunction with a Jessner; which is performed right before, in order to open up the skin, so the retinoic acid can penetrate on a deeper level. The client leaves with the chemical peel solution on their face. The peeling process takes place on the third day. More dramatic changes to the skin require multiple peels over time.

Croton oil / phenol peel
Formerly known as a phenol peel, this skin treatment was re-popularized by Gregory Hetter. In a series of articles, he covers its historical use on a clandestine basis by early Hollywood stars in the 1920s to maintain their youthful appearance, to its early incorporation into rejuvenating medical practice in the 1960s by Thomas Baker, all the way to developing a modern basis for its use and dosage. Briefly, the active ingredient is clearly the croton oil component, which previously was poorly understood or deliberately obfuscated. It is the basis for a deep chemical peel, which causes an intense caustic exfoliating reaction in the skin, and eventually results in regeneration of the dermal architecture, effectively restoring younger dermis in a way that cannot be replicated by other, more superficial peels.
